Biography
Michael Bendickson, President and CEOMike Bendickson has more than 20 years of experience in portfolio acquisition, evaluation, sales and collection. He founded Absolute Resolutions Corp. in April 2001 to successfully appraise, purchase and collect high-quality portfolios.
Mike’s vast experience in the bad debt market includes many types of charged-off receivables from such lenders as Bank of America, Chase, HSBC, Wells Fargo, US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He also promotes the sale of non-traditional portfolios, including smaller or older packages or product that has not previously come to this market.
In his role as President, Mike manages the purchase and sale of product and oversees the proper due diligence on every transaction. He also directs corporate diversification including the development of new product channels, and the addition of profit centers such as the contingency division and account billing. Mike promotes the growth and image of the debt buying industry. In 2004, he was elected by his peers to the Executive Board of the Debt Buyers’ Association. He is currently President of the Association and has served on the Board for 10 years. Previously, he was Treasurer and Chair of the Legislative Fund Raising Committee supporting positive change on Capitol Hill, where he regularly attends meetings to help educate legislative members about the industry.
Mike began his career as a collector with the American Creditors Bureau in Phoenix, Arizona and was quickly promoted to Collections Manager for his ingenuity and integrity with account holders and staff. In 1990, FM Services in Phoenix hired Mike as Collections Manager, where he assisted in the tremendous growth of that company. In 1995, he joined The Sagres Company, a debt buyer and seller. Within two years, he was promoted to Vice President and two years later to President of the 50-person staff. He left Sagres to establish Absolute Resolutions Corp.
Mike has gained tremendous credibility in the industry by working closely on every transaction with employees at every level of business. Mike has learned the mechanics of each position: the best methods for dealing with account holders, the key to selecting high-quality packages, the legal ramifications of each type of transaction
Mike is considered an expert in the industry and is invited to speak at conferences nationwide on topics ranging from debt buying to collections and analytics.
