Ivan Lavinsky, General Counsel
Ivan Lavinsky, Esq. joined Absolute Resolutions Corp. in November 2002 as General Counsel. After having had the opportunity to work on both the debt buying and the contingency side of the collection industry, Ivan was anxious to bring his knowledge, skills and experience to the fast-paced and exciting environment of Absolute Resolutions Corp.
Prior to joining ARC, Ivan worked as a partner in Hameroff/Lavinsky Law Firm PC, a third party collection law office, where he was manager of the State and Federal Court Divisions. There he was responsible for the management of an extensive caseload representing clients ranging from consulting firms and small businesses for services rendered to large creditors and debt buyers. He also worked for CIR Law, where he managed a caseload focused on litigation for large originators of debt and debt buyers.
Previous to Ivan’s experience in the third-party collections arena, he held the position of In-house Counsel at The Sagres Company, a national debt buyer. Ivan handled all legal aspects of the collections process including legal compliance under federal and state law, and the institution of the legal action against account holders. Ivan also was involved in the contractual negotiations of the purchasing and selling of debt portfolios.
Before Ivan’s employment in the collection industry, he was an associate attorney with the Law Office of Palmer, Rodak and Associates, a general litigation firm. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
In his position as General Counsel of Absolute Resolutions Corp., Ivan handles all contractual issues arising out of the purchase and servicing of debt portfolios. He is also responsible for ensuring legal compliance in all areas of collection.
